Welcome to AM Roofing

If you have ever wanted a flat roof installing

At your property but had concerns about the practicalities, you are in luck – at AM Roofing, we specialise in flat roofs installations across North London and Hertfordshire. Popular among commercial and industrial clients, flat roofs can also be installed on domestic properties. Indeed, they make an ideal choice for anybody wanting a roof garden, patio, or terrace.

Flat roofs are quick and easy to install and require little in the way of maintenance. This is doubtless part of the reason they are so popular since it makes them a cost-effective roofing solution.

We have been installing flat roofs in the region since we started trading more than fourteen years ago. We operate out of our two offices in Hertford and Enfield. This allows our roofers fantastic coverage of the South East area. That includes our valued customers as far afield as Barnet, Potters Bar, Welwyn Garden City, Harlow, Stevenage, and beyond.

WHAT WE DO

Flat roofs in Hertfordshire and North London

As the leading provider of flat roof installations across Hertfordshire and North London, we have much to offer our customers. Here are some of our more popular flat roof choices…

Structural deck

This is the foundation of any flat roof. It is laid across the ceiling joists and forms the base layer on which to set the finished roof. It can be constructed from a range of materials including concrete, plywood, timber boards, and more. At AM Roofing, we look at your flat roof specifications before recommending a material.

Single layer membrane flat roofs

As the name suggests, this process involves applying a single thin sheet of material to the top of your structural decking. There are several elastomeric or plastomeric roof membranes that can do the job, resulting in a fully waterproofed flat roof. These include neoprene, EPDM, PVC, and polymer-modified bitumen's. We will recommend a particular membrane depending on the job.

Built up roofs

Built up roofs have been in use for more than a century. They are laid using roofing felt, impregnated with asphalt and applied with hot bitumen. Built up a layer at a time, it creates a solid and durable roofing surface. A finely-ground aggregate is normally mixed with the bitumen for the final layer for added toughness and grip.

Modified bitumen roofs

Modified bitumen roofs are a contemporary alternative to built up roofs. Instead of mixing aggregates with the bitumen, this process uses cap sheets (reinforced roof wear layers). There are several ways to apply these roofs, depending on the specifications. These include hot-applied, torch-applied, cold-applied, and self-adhered. Our professional flat roofers will give their recommendations at the design stage.

Tiled roofs

People put their flat roofs to different uses. Some – such as balconies, roof terraces, and roof gardens – are designed to experience regular footfall. In these instances, something more substantial than a plastic or felt membrane is required. At AM Roofing, we recommend a tiled finish, stuck to the structural deck with a high-quality screed.

Liquid plastic roofs

Liquid plastic is a state-of-the-art flat roofing solution. It can be applied to almost any flat roof design and to whatever material the structural deck is composed of. It is literally poured over the surface of the flat roof, where it forms an entire, seamless membrane that is both watertight and exceptionally durable.
